Lori sees the Pilates Powerhouse as a shape shifting support system for the whole body and helps people enjoy developing and using that system to move with strength and ease. She uses Classical Pilates to guide clients’ abilities with a mind for healthy ranges of joint motion, proportion and the daily activities these abilities will enhance. She is grateful for the wonderful students whose hard work transforms them before her very eyes. She has been thanked for her demonstrations in workshops for real body solutions to the common answer “it depends on the body”.
Lori holds a BFA in Dance from SUNY Purchase and a Master of Physical Therapy from Temple University. She was personally invited by Romana Kryzanowska, Joseph Pilates’ protégé, to be a Teacher Trainer in 1999. She co-founded the first Pilates teacher certification program in the Pacific Northwest, which she directed for over 16 years, pioneering Pilates Studio ownership at a time when few knew what Pilates was. She is a featured instructor on the popular online workout website Pilatesology and is an instructor of human anatomy.
